Product Description
55 Gallon Container. Clean water is one of the first things you will need in any emergency. Store at least 1 gallon of water per person per day (pppd). 3-6 months of stored water is not unreasonable. Our NEW Heavy duty food grade plastic barrels come with 2 bung openings in the top. Great for water or fuel storage. Fill at your home with clean drinkable water, add a preserver and close. Can be stored inside or out year round. Allow at least 5” empty head room if storing outside for freezing water to expand. One 55 gal. drum of water is approx. a two week supply for a family of four at 1 gal.
In an emergency, having a sufficient supply of clean water is most important. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stresses the importance of storing at least one gallon of water per person per day in your emergency supply.
The 55-Gallon Water Storage Barrel provides an inexpensive means to safely store emergency water for 5-years when treated with Water Preserver Concentrate drops (sold separately).
The coloring of this barrel is specifically designed to block UV rays in order to prevent the growth of algae and bacteria. This allows for indoor and outdoor storage of your water supply.
Use your supply of clean water for cooking, cleaning, washing, and drinking needs, and keep yourself hydrated and comfortable in case of an emergency with the 55 Gallon Water Storage Barrel.
In addition to the Water Preserver Concentrate, extra tools and options are sold separately to help you safely store and easily access your water supply.
Why do you need to store emergency water?
Following a disaster, there may not be any safe drinking water available. When the electricity goes out, water treatment plants may stop working causing tap water to become unsafe for consumption. Emergency responders may not be able to deliver water to your area safely. And, it may not be safe or possible to boil water due to broken gas lines. So, you need to be self-reliant by storing a supply of emergency
